Introduction to Water and Its Properties

 Water: The Uncommon Liquid
Irregularity of the density of water. The highest density of water occurs when the molecules are packed tightly together.  The crystal arrangement of ice has a lot of space incorporated in it. There are fewer molecules of water per volume in ice, than there are in water. 

Atomic Structure

You will refresh your memory of electronic configuration of the atoms.
You will work independently to complete the worksheet during class.  The sheets will be due at the end of the period.

For those of you who had difficulties with the electronic configuration of the atom, read pages 19 through 20 of the text book.

The Chemical Basis of Life

Prior to Introduction to chapter 2, you will be taught how to write a lab report.  Remember not to include personal pronouns when writing your report.  There is a link to report on the page. 

Start of Chapter 2: You will be introduce to 20 of the most important elements needed for healthy life.

Experimental Design

1) You will be handed the Experimental Design Diagram and we will discuss and explain each term.
2) Next, you will read 4 short paragraphs and identify the following from each passage;
a) the dependent variable
b) the Independent variable
c) the control group
d) the Experimental group.

(Protists fall into multiple kingdoms within the eukarya domain. Most are

unicellular, some are multi-cellular, and some colonial. Protists exhibit the

most functional and structural diversity than the members of the

eukaryotes they are most familiar, plants, animals, and fungi.)
