1)
Describe the function of the homeotic gene.
1b) Design an animal and show how a
mutation in the homeotic gene caused a problem in the design.
2)
Use a flow chart to explain how cloning of an
animal could be accomplished. Do not
copy the exact images and wording from the text.
3)
Gene expression is regulated by turning
transcription on and off. E. Coli
changes its activities from time to time based on its environment.
Draw the DNA in a bacterium. Label the parts and explain the functions. Then explain how the bacterium turns
transcription on and off based on its environment. (Make up your own environment, such as
fructose, glucose…Do not use lactose or tryptophan as stated in the text)
